Eyes Wide Open!

As we drift through this Global Pandemic

few things look rosy.

We are left to fend for ourselves,

As we isolate to stay healthy,

Alone, through the turmoil.

Outside our front doors.

infections,

hospitalizations,

deaths,

vaccinations

new cases

are tracked every day by all nations.

Essential workers stick it out

even for low wages,

but not forever.

LTC attempts to re-staff,

nurses are the first to threaten to quit.

The big picture is already in chaos!

We get hit by another wave.

But countries continue to fight

causing populations to flee

the destruction,

the death,

the discrimination.

the prejudice

and the hate.

Millions left to starve.

World leaders are told we are at

the tipping point for Global warming

as flash floods rush over burnt forests

mud slides

rivers rise

people flee

animals drown

homes destroyed

farms flooded

roads close

Lives disrupted; property destroyed

Communities cry for assistance to rebuild.
